What's up with the ads?
 

Why does the site have pop up ads for the home page after log in and then the first two posts? After that they go away.
I have pop up blockers set on my computer and don't have issues with any other site.
This just started a on Wednesday on this site.
First the ad pops up on the top of the page(top right) and gets larger than normal. Then if you don't close it quickly, it moves down lower on the screen(center). You have to close the ad before you can do anything on the site.
Anyone else experience this?

if you use firefox (much better than I.E. or any other browser) you wont have any problems.

They are flash popups so you can't block them

I've never seen a popup ad on here.

I bookmarked my user CP page, and usually go in through there anyways.

Using IE btw.

I'm on a Mac with Safari and have never seen a single pop or or flash ad from this site.

You're not seeing things. I was getting the pop-ups last night and this morning. The advertising at the top right seemed to have something to do with them. The ads are gone now on my pages and the pop-ups have stopped.

Whoever fixed it, THANKS! they were killing me on the dial up at home.

Yes i have them too, WTF

banner ads.... i'm fine with that. i'll even donate $$$ but i will not visit a site with pop-ups, period !

I was getting the same thing last night. I was so tired of it I moved on to another site. I came back this morning and it was fixed...cool!

Never encountered pop-ups from this site.

...and the pop ups are back. I dont whats going on, it just started yesterday, but its annoying as hell....

Only certain ads have overlays tied to them. You will see one soon enough.

put the site that they come from in your hosts file :P that will stop it.

I've never seen a pop-up here:), but they are quite obnoxious on BikePics now.:mad:

just use firefox. you wont have any problems. you dont have to install any extra pop-up blockers or any of that shit. firefox takes care of pretty much everything.
