$3 Gas...It must be Summer

Well I filled up this morning with mid grade 89 octane at 2.99 a gallon. Regular was 2.89. It's going up fast, it was 2.19 for regular several weeks ago at the same station.

It's the seasonal "screw the consumers" BS. Anybody else seen $3 gas yet?

Edit: I just checked my receipt from last Wednesday, May 27...it was 2.79/gal. 20 cents increase in 6 days.

Have you no feelings for the poor oil companies? They are struggling, barely getting by... breaks my heart just to think about it. You know, it`s not as though they are just getting off years of record profits. Where is your heart man?

I've been seeing $3 per gallon, but only because I'm in California. I love visiting California, but I'd hate to live here again.

Its around $2.50 here in SE Pennsylvania. Here is a cool link for prices around the country.

There is a link at bottom of paige so you can add it to your website.

VTRsurfer, I just realized you are out in San Clemente. I was just out there yesterday enjoying the beach for the day via some boogie board action. Beautiful area. My family and I used to go to that beach all of the time back in the 80's.

Its sad that with all the bullshit people have had to endure the last year, people dont notice or care about the latest price fixing on gas.
The price of gasoline has never risen faster in such a short period outside of some emergency, ever, anywhere.
After last summer, even I am numb to the fact.
Imagine, just 5 months ago, it dropped to only $1.39 a gallon here.
Its unprecedented.

It's summertime, and the U.S. Dollar is heading toward parity with the peso.

Also worth remembering- for every gallon of gas you buy in California the oil company makes 10 or 12 cents profit. State and Fed government take just under 70 cents in tax.

So let's demand the government investigate "big oil". Yeah, that will work.

I've lived here since '85, been surfing here since '63. My wife and I live about 1/2 mile south of T Street. T Street is the boogie boarding beach in town from Memorial Day through Labor Day, so I'm guessing that's where you were. We were down in San Diego yesterday helping my wife's 88 yr old mom run some errands. Hope you had fun.

And Ortega Highway is only 8 miles from my driveway.

Gas stations only take in about 3 cents per gallon. They hate it when the prices are jacked up. And yeah, I think Cali has the highest tax per gallon in the US. But the oil companies have taken in record profits, unlike the car companies.

Side benefit is that the roads become less crowded when prices go up. We can all get behind that.

Nothing like that magnificent "day without illegal aliens" we had a couple of years ago, but it has seemed a bit less congested to me.

Last year when gas was around $5, there was a noticeable decrease in the "weekend migration" south to San Diego and Mexico.

Shut up!! All of you! What are you whining about?? $3 pr gallon...?
We all have to pay between $7-8 pr gallon in Norway!
(1 litre = $2, 1 gallon = 3,785 litres.)
So stop whining!

This is why we're complaining...
Norway total land area - 148,746 sq mi
USA total land area - 3,794,066 sq mi
When we have to go somewhere, we have to drive further... a lot further.

It might make more sense to compare "Arid"zona to Norway fer you indie...

"Arid"zona = ~114,000 sq mi.

or Europe to USA...

Europe = 3,837,081 sq mi (with the addition of the former Soviet nations its bigger than us now)

President Obama has as much to do with the gas prices as you and I do. Even if he could interfere then that would be tampering with a "free" market.

We still have the cheapest gas in the developed world. Gas tax pays for the roads. Want to pay less tax? Prepare for worse/less roads. There are no free lunches.

Gas in my area is $3.50ish and i can get the good stuff (non-ethanol) for about $30 more per gallon. Live between two lakes. Thank goodness boats need good gas.

Not watching the debate, my mind is made up. Let's just say i am READY for a change.

We have one shitty option in this next election...to re-elect the same idiots who brought us bailouts, mortgage propping up, and the government buying GM.

Unfortunately that is the ONLY option...the republican party isn't a real party and hasn't been since the 80s...the only reason they get any votes is because most of middle america is populated by easily-brainwashed morons, and because for people worth millions of dollars or more...they're the ones represented.

I know its easy to let your anger be taken advantage of by the propaganda...I'm angry too...but until a real third party can be chosen...don't get angry enough to throw away the country to the special interests and the elites.

Well the good news is your vote will be null and void as this easily-brainwashed moron is going to counter yours.

If I remember correctly, admitting you have a problem is the first step to getting help. So, you have that going for you.

I love the F, and one of my coworkers has a single cam F as well. We drag raced each other, the 1980 won, even with 70 lbs weight advantage to him.

PM me some pics of your F, i picked up a CBR600F3 front end and rear wheel for mine to convert to a nice SuperF, but have not started that project yet. Had the parts going on 3 years now. Maybe this winter i'll start her conversion.

Nice old bikes, looking forward to 17" radials and keeping the original headlight and instrument cluster look.
