Superhawks now allowed in WERA
Up until this year our VTR could only race in the B Superstock/Superbike class which allows Up to 1000cc 4-stroke twins.
For 2011 WERA has added the VTR1000F to a few smaller displacement classes. We are now allowed to run in the C Superstock/Superbike, which allows Up to 850cc 4-stroke water-cooled twins(VTR1000F and TL1000 being exceptions) We can also now run in the Vintage 7 Heavyweight class in Superstock trim. Good things to know, I'm planning to start racing my FZR600 in WERA this year, now I may be able to get a VTR in on the races too!!! |
Awesome. Where do you race?
|
I haven't started racing yet, just some track days last year. I'm hoping to get my WERA license by the end of May. For track days I'll be going to Summit, New Jersey, VIR mostly, hopefully Poconos, BeaveRun. Maybe Neslon Ledges and Mid-Ohio. The Mid-Atlantic WERA series includes all of those except New Jersey and Mid-ohio I think.

That's a lot of travelling. Is that something you intend to do for real money or just as a goof?

I raced my SH with WERA in the Heavyweight twin classes in 2007 at Summit Pt. and 2009 at VIR. It's not very competitive, but fun none the less... I'm faster on my SV650:cool:
