SPOILER - Moto America Today
If you don't want to know who won the 1000cc race today stop here.
I had the good fortune to attend the 600 and 1000 cc races today here in Pittsburgh. Nicky Hayden's brother Roger took a significant lead at the start and appeared to be walking away with the contest. At about 10 laps in however another rider had a serious crash and the race was red flagged with everyone lining up on the grid, wiping out Roger's lead.
The race was eventually restarted as a 6 lap contest and while he never regained the significant lead he had before the crash, he did manage to hang on and pull out the win. After taking a victory lap he returned to the crowd and got another rider to hold his bike. When the track was clear he crossed over over unzipped his leathers and revealed his shirt bearing # 69 on his chest. The crowd went wild with applause. It was an emotional moment for anyone there.
