Be sure to watch the WSBK races at Donnington Park. Just finished watching Race 1..outstanding racing especially the last 10 laps. In the middle of Race 2 also great..issue in doubt.

Never really watched Superbike racing before. Both races were riveting, end of race 2 was a stunner!!!

I like MotoGP and Moto2 but when it comes the handlebar banging and fairing bashing amoung 5 to 7 guys week in and week out you can't beat WSBK. If you don't believe that watch the last 10 laps of race 2!!

Yeah, I am a new fan and not familiar with the rules, but I thought someone might have been DQ'd for that crash at the end of race 2.

Expecting some payback at next race in Salt Lake ?

I agree but it was no worse than I've seen Marquez do in Moto2 or the late Simoncelli do in 250GP and MotoGP!!

Aw man motogp is a bore/snorefest. You can go a whole race with one pass.

Nowadays all the bikes are muted with electronics but WSBK is still great. Even AMA has been exciting for the last few years.

Donnington was great. The point and shoot British hooligans vs the smooth motogp styles of Melandri and Biaggi. Twenty yr olds vs 40 yr olds! Just like the races I am in.

The ending wasn't the person who won's fault IMO...the crashing bike's rider tried to turn in on a space that wasn't there...

(trying not to spoil for people who haven't seen it).

what really sucked is where Biaggi finished...if you were watching the race on Euro 2 you get a taste of how much of a douche he really is...I would be happiest if him and Checa are never on the rostrum.

No argument there but if you noticed there was a certain older rider that was making some close passes as well. I also don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't seen it yet. If you haven't watched get it on Speed on Tuesday!!

For me personally I blame Marco for that last lap last corner crash. He was the one that set that accident in motion. Both passes he made into the bus stop and last corner, there was no way he was going to make them stick. Bad show on his part, if he had not made that last lunge from way back into the last corner. He and Haslam would have had another BMW 1-2 finish. I don't blame Leon or Jonny for that crash. On a few of the British media outlets Leon and Johnny have already shaked hands and made up. They both put the blame on Marco's over aggressive riding style. Still made for great racing for us spectators.

Hell VTRSurfer don't you know fender banging, door bashing and crashing out your foes is what Nascar is all about!? That's why I stopped watchin it years ago. Besides the fact I'm a 2 wheel guy, always have been always will be!

Superbike Planet just posted a Youtube of highlights of the 2nd race, there is also a blurb about Rossi watching the 2 WSBK races and calling MotoGP "boring".

If every SBK match is as exciting as these 2 races were, I'll be watching every event from now on. Bet they won't have trouble filling the stands the way NASCAR does lately.

Yep I was rooting for Leon too. (being a Brit that I am) I definitely did not want some Pizza eating, block pass cheating Italian doing the double at Donnington!

Did anyone see Sykes's take on it after the race? hilarious...when asked "what were you thinking when you saw that happen?

Let's not lose sight of some Jingoism on the Brits part. They would have come unglued if that had been Biaggi making the pass Rea made!

Rea still had a responsibility to pass safely...I can see why he went for that gap, but actually after watching the video again...he wasn't really alongside Haslam, it looked like he straight up ran into him...if Melandri wasn't making that ridiculous pass attempt there may have been more of a gap, but Rea still needed to make a responsible pass....and I don't think that was one.

I agree with that assesment after further watching. That was a real barn burner..

I just watched it this afternoon (on my DVR) and re-watched the last corner a few times, if Leon kept his line (he was going too fast as well) & if MM kept his line, Rea wouldn't have had an opening - say it w/ me > RACING INCIDENT.

BTW - Congrats to BMW in race 1 for their 1st win - (I used to own old Beemers & still have a soft side for em)

Both were great races

I wish MotoGP would get more competitive.

Lastly, its spelled Donington & I'm still mad @ Pedorsa for that move on Nicky. (Say the following in an Jeremy Clarkson voice> It's been said he performs midget porn when not racing, ladies & gentlemen, Dani Pedrosa. :lol:
