7 AFM Podium finishes for my RC51!
Guy Hyder bought my RC51 last year. He bought a 2000 chassis, so that he could run in a vintage class.
The engine has JE Pistons and my head work, with stock valves and otherwise stock. It has a full Akrapovic Exhaust system. Mapping was done by Superbike Performance, in Reno. Airbox is mostly stock. Intake snorkel has the dividing septum removed, so it is an open tube. The forks were done by Bob Hayashida. I shortened the topout springs, to make the forks work better under light loads (corner exits). The rear shock was done by Stig Pettersen. He got on the podium 7 times and wrote to thank me for the great bike! http://i50.tinypic.com/156xxyd.jpg I knew it was a great bike. http://i49.tinypic.com/5lqukk.jpg |
Good work! Nothing like the satisfaction of seeing your hard work go to use. The only thing better is when you are ridin it too :)

I did some checking cause when I read "Vintage" I couldn't see how a 2000 model year could classified that way. Normally vintage is 25+ years old.
It turns out that AFM Superbike has a sub class called "Super Dinosour" where the bikes must be at least 12 years old. So there you have it we're riding Dinosours! |

I knew it was something like Super Dinosaur, but wasn't sure of the name.
I just zoomed in on the photo, to see the class and place on each trophy. From left to right: 2nd Expert Super Dinosaur 1st Expert Super Dinosaur 2nd Expert Super Dinosaur 1st Expert Super Dinosaur 2nd Expert Formula 50 3rd Expert Super Dinosaur 3rd Expert Open Twins The Open Twins podium is especially surprising, since twins are now 1.2 liter. |
Not too shabby for a Dinosaur!!
