I'm thinking this will be arround 25 000-30 000$. All bets are on !

Tweety 06-02-2013 07:04 AM

And I'm thinking why does it come from a dealer in the UK, not Honda Corporate? They usually keep a tigth ship, with heavy fines for leaking news they aren't supposed too...

mikstr 06-02-2013 07:10 AM

Not sure, if doesn't look lile a Photoshop special, mind you, that doesn't mean it isn't.....

I read this in a magazine a while back so dont know how Watergate this leak is. What are the details? V four out of the vfr? Not real earthshaking. And if its in keeping with Hondas recent efforts, it will outwiegh a goldwing for no reason.

I mean what, the 700cc that makes ninja 300 level hp and has half a car engine, then this?

Thank God we bought the best bike honda ever made. The superhawk.

I can't read it but here are a few shots of it in a japanese mag

The RCV1 is a fact - Honda RC51 Forum : RC51 Motorcycle Forums

Well... What is stated as FACT, from one of the Honda big wigs on a press conference a while back is that they are infact building a roadgoing RCV derivate, which would be a V4 superbike in very limited numbers... And that the build/development had infact started then, meaning it's in the works now, and that they at the time then suggested it might see market in 2014...

So, something is in the pipeline... But when, how and how much... Dunno... But I'm fairly sure that the annoucement will come from Honda Corporate, not a UK dealer when it finally happens...

And yeah, I'm more inclined to belive the engine will be a derivate of a roadgoing V4 than an actual race engine... So, a hefty lump... But I'm still hoping for weights on par with a current Fireblade, with a tad more hp... That's a realistic goal I think...

smokinjoe73 06-03-2013 05:13 AM

Yeah Tweety, I hope you are right. I dont know the vfr hp numbers but I dont think they are fireblade area yet. Although I cant imagine many of us will be in the running for one, it is nice to see what the can do when they want to.

IIRC, the VFR1200 engine uses the mandated max. size bore (for MotoGP, 81mm) and also uses the "grouped" V4 cylindeer layout (two front front cylinders are "outside" and rear cylinder are "inside" for a narrower mid-section)..... perhaps they would have a good foundation for a high-perf mill there..... who knows.....

That is the engine configuration that has been rumbled about for the last year, or so. I believe they have shortened the stroke, to bring the displacement down to 1000 cc. It sounds like Honda is getting serious about Superbike again.

About time, we can only take so many Furys, DN-01 and the rest of the crap they try to pawn off as motorcycles of late.......
