Honda unveiled the RCV today. Reportedly 184k. Where do I sign? :o

E.Marquez 06-11-2015 04:22 PM

Disappointed neutered for the US market, ...noise and EPA crap... dropped RPM to 9400 (vs 14k for EU bike with Kit) and just over 110 HP

For the Jay Leno types where money is just a HAZMAT thing that needs to be gotten rid of.. sure..

Wolverine 06-11-2015 04:29 PM

If ya have the 184, you also have the means to uncork the beast within.

Kind of.. though it would then not be the Machine Honda built which in my opinion (a person that can not afford to buy it) is the only thing that makes it worth owning.

My bank just called back and i got approved for $183k... Anyone have an extra thou laying around? We can be co-owners :)

The power kit, which costs 12,000 euros in permitted areas, won’t be available in the US (but if you can afford the bike, just phone your crew, have ’em gas up the jet and then you or your designee pops over to Europe to pick up the kit).

Honda makes the kit, so it is the machine they built. Sounds like you have your co-owner James!

That front light is a little too 'knight rider..esk' for me.

I use a PC. Does this make me Bill Gates friend, and will he be willing to lend me few bucks for this new ride ??

scottiemann 06-11-2015 06:45 PM

I use linux so I guess I'm out lol...

I do however have a g layin around to be a 1/184th co-owner with you james

And I thought the MV F4CC was bad at 104k a few years back

thedeatons 06-11-2015 07:43 PM

Awesome! You pick the deal:

A) you can ride it for 30 seconds out of the year

B) i can send you a turn signal with complete ownership rights to that particular signal (wiring and stalk not included)

what about the bulb?

thedeatons 06-11-2015 08:45 PM

Mmmm... Ya i can throw in the bulb. Unless it's Euro-spec yellow... Then it's worth more.

I don't recall which article I read, but I thought each one of these is to be hand-built by the same mechanics that currently build the MotoGP bikes.

More from Sport Rider.

A Sports Kit will be available in countries not including the US, which extends the rev limiter and thus bumps claimed peak power to around 215 horsepower. Our guess is that if you have the means to afford the bike, then you also have the connections and money to get your hands on one of these kits (which will reportedly cost upwards of 12,000 euros).

alas, mear mortals do not have 183k plus a jet and crew to go get the factory kit, plus the Tech capable of doing the work....and of those that do.... some can only barely..spell Motorcycle, never mind ride one.
Most of these are destined to be a piece of motorbike art..

If I were Honda..Id take,,, some, a few, 2, 5, 10.. and give them away to someone,,,, a club racer, a Honda enthusiasts that is sporting a clean VFR45 Interceptor, RC30 or maybe a 1998 Red SuperHawk....:p
Get the bike into a few riders hands... let it rack up some hours on the street being ridden..

Wolverine 06-12-2015 01:48 PM

Add it to your list of underslung rear brake bikes Erik. ;)

I'm sure the bits underneath are the very best money can buy, but am I the only one disappointed with the styling of these things? First the new R1 and now this? All the technology and speed is great but the bike looks like a refrigerator. Seriously, park a 17 year old MV Agusta F4 next to this thing in a parking lot and see which draws a crowd. Better yet ask some random folks which one looks more modern or which one they think costs more. Yes I know most of that would disappear the first time you fire this thing up and twist the throttle (after getting the "power kit"). But who is seriously going to track one of these things? (Can't wait to be the first magazine tester who throws one of these down the road, if it ever even gets tested at all). They're immediately going to become collectors items and get put on a pedestal in someone's living room. You could put a few grand into a ZX10 and it'll probably walk on even the uncorked version of this thing and also probably do a pretty handy job of running around a racetrack with it too. I know every so often Honda likes to flex it's muscle with stuff like this but that seems like a REALLY hard and expensive way to maybe 200hp and some fancy suspension.

An S1000rr with an exhaust, a filter and a map will put down over 210hp at the WHEEL, yet for 200k this get a CLAIMED 215? Yes I know there's more to it than just horsepower... Sorry I guess I don't get it. I mean I get why Honda made it and yeah it's cool but... Maybe it'll draw more kids into the dealership to buy cbr300s?

It's like a supermodel in a muumuu to me... The suspension and bits underneath are pure p@rn but the styling is YAAAAWN.....

captainchaos 06-12-2015 02:22 PM

By the way the new NSX will be less expensive than this thing...

Wolverine 06-12-2015 02:25 PM

I dunno man.... I get it. I think it's baddass, not as drop dead gorgeous as the Italians though.

The fairing lines are budder smooth. Much more attractive than the new R1, although its looks are growing one me.

This is reminiscent of the oval-piston NR bikes Honda sold in '92. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 large, if memory serves. I'd bet most of them never saw the road or the racetrack.

scottiemann 06-12-2015 07:14 PM

Looks damn sexy in CF... and the headlight... its like iron man is staring into my soul :p

I dont know, I'd rather buy a used 1198 and mod it out...

Pidge 06-13-2015 04:49 AM

James, I want in, I'll throw in the 12K for the "KIT". What does that get me 30 secs a year X 12. HHmmm if you give me more time on it I'll even match time for you with the kit turned on. Now we need one more guy to pay for the insurance and we are good to go!
