ZX10 fork swap
 

So slowly moving forward with my zx10 fork swap. Got the fork legs and swapped in new seals & oil.

Next step is triples. The sticky thread doesnt cover cbr600rr triples but TMK they are the same width as the stockers(?). I think I can use my stock wheel but dont know where to find specs.

Anyone able to throw some light on this? I have the 600rr brakes as well.

Here in Oz all the standard fork swaps are drug money(Too expensive)

Zx 10 forks are cheap compared to CBR GSXR or R1.

I want a USD front end with bigger brakes and a top mount steering damper, but the Scotsman in me says too many $$$$

This mod for me is more about aesthetics as my bike handles great with all that I have done to the suspension!

Kenmoore, that is pretty much why I went this way. The ZX10 shares forks with the 636 but 10 parts are hugely cheaper for some reason. I had the mechanic for my race school rebuild them to my specs.

Bought the forks with lower triple for $169 SHIPPED!. I plan to use cbr600rr triples which are pricey but should save me the $2-300 a new front wheel would cost.

I already have 600rr brakes ready to bolt up. Then gotta maybe use apex riser bars.

Already swapped a 1000rr whole front end of my other vtr but it wasnt cheap and I didnt have a 6 month old son at the time.

600RR triples won't work with your ZX forks - tubes are different diameters. Sorry!

Jamie say it aint so! Arent they both 50mm? Talking about the post 05 cbrs with USD forks. What size are those?

Wow almost boght triples. Do you have the correct numbers?

So my original research was possibly faulty. As of now it looks like 48mm CBR and 50mm zx10.

That is correct. The lower clamps are smaller on the CBR600RR too.

Smaller than 48?
