Yoshi's vs Bafflectomy

Is there anyone on here that went from a bafflectomy to yoshimura cans?

I am thinking Yoshi's because they are suposed to be fairly quiet. I am hoping for something about half way between stock and bafflectomy.

I have listened to sound clips, but I dont think I can judge by that.

Thank you for any advice in advance

I had some de-baffled stockers on my VTR berfore going to my Yoshi's. The Yoshi's are much quieter than the de-baffled stockers but they still hae a nice rumble to them.

I have Yoshi Stainless race baffles (no baffles) and they aren't quiet! lol Which versions are the "quiet ones"?

I used to have a Yoshimura full Race system and it was quite loud. So loud, in fact, that I got rid of it after only about 500 miles on the bike. I've always like the sound of the Yoshi's though, and would get another pair of slip-ons if the price was right...

Those are the same cans I have but my headers orient them in the stock positions. It's pretty loud but not offensive.

Thank you everyone for the responses. Looks like I will be on the lookout for some RS-3 yoshis :)

Wife commented about the biking being loud when she followed me home from work the other day.

my bike came with yosh slip ons. at first they seemed a bit quiet. then i noticed the baffle inserts in the very end of the pipes. took them out and got the loud i was looking for.

how did you get them out?

When I finally discovered a distributor close-out on what were listed as Yosh RS-3 Titanium slip-ons with race baffles I jumped on 'em. Of course when they were delivered they had the Zyclone (quiet baffles) installed. I raised hell with the distributor and they sent me the correct race baffles, new packing, and rivets. This set-up IS louder than the previous modified stockers but not offensive. 5 or 6 years ago a friend at Yosh USA told me that demand for the "race" baffled slip-on system for the VTR's had dropped off so they were only making the quiet "Zyclone" version. The LeoVince slip-ons (with db killers removed) on my '07 Tuono are definitely louder.

It's too bad they didn't make the baffles easily removable to suit your taste's for the day.

How do I get rid of my baffles on the stock pipe?????

motojoe 12-01-2008 02:36 PM

Search: Bafflectomy, on the site.

Plenty of write ups on the subject.

leo vince pipes have 2 baffles. one on the end cap that is removable with 1 screw & and insert that goes between the mid pipe & can, a washer with holes in it. so it can be as quiet as stock ... a little louder ... or a nice rumble. :)
