There is a bit more savings if you ditch the passenger pegs and related hardware. It's still big for the bike. Every pound you can save makes the bike that much better.

FWIW, the Akrapovic system I am running (with titanium cans) is claimed to be 16.5 lb lighter....

I just did a weight comparison between a full Moriwaki (stainless steel) exhaust and a full Akrapovic exhaust for the RC51. I was amazed.
the Akrapovic system is 6.75 lbs lighter, without accounting for the stainless mounting brackets. Most of the weight savings is in the canisters and the link pipes, so it will have a significant effect on the F/R weight distribution. The Akra canisters mount lower and further forward, as well, which will further improve the weight distribution and decrease the roll moment. And I thought the bike steered and handled well already! Anybody need a beautiful and semi-rare Moriwaki full system for an RC51 (SP1 or SP2)? It is a beautiful system for a street bike, but I am refining and sharpening my track weapon. |
so If you modified it to a single exit carbon can you'd be set.

Got the full Akrapovic (carbon cans)exhaust system on both RC51, and the S-hawk S-Hawk was the last to be given the full (carbon cans) exhaust treatment-Removed a set of D&D slip-on. Bike felt as if it had put on wings..
Totally different bike in the curves, Besides that facts -My hearing is coming back... |
