vtr slipons

hey folks! new owner of a 1998 vtr. strangely enough, i cant find slip ons for this bike. searched web high and low, i cant find anyone making them anymore!
I do know a guy who cut back the factory cans and decreased or removed baffle, no change to carbs swears it runs like a champ.
any leads on new slipons with links? or thoughts on modifying stock cans?
thanks!!

Is buying used exhaust an option?

Hop on ebay, there is plenty of exhausts, new and used.

Not that strange as all parts, especially new or in mint condition, are getting harder and harder to find as our bikes get older and older. Most exhausts made for our bikes are no longer available new. Some are however, and you'll find several still available new on places like ebay. They're only available in standard mount but I think you can't beat the Delkevics quality for the price. If you just want cheap then the Danmotos are a bit less and aren't nearly as nice. There are also always new sets still available on there from GPR (high mount) and Yoshimura as well. Other than that used pop up here and there on here and ebay from time to time.

Regarding the stock cans you can do a bafflectomy and get basically the same sound as a pair of slip ons for the cost of some drill bits. I'm sure there are already numerous write ups on here about it.

thanks guys. i had checked ebay a few weeks back and pickings were slim. i also wanted to check on new ones to see dyno charts on power increases. yes, used is definately an option if price and condition are right. If i can find something close with the right inlet i can modify the mount no problem. just thought someone on here might share some of their trials.

Try tawperformance.com for new Scorpion cans.
Made in UK, no repacking (stainless steel wool inside), weighs a lot less, more bass sound and louder if you remove the attached dB killer inserts.
About a grand for a set of carbon fiber slip ons.
I dealt with Peter Novacek there.

I put a set of DanMoto's (with quiet baffles) on and rejetted the carbs....bike sounds great and pulls like a train. If you're in Cali you'll need to have them shipped to another state then forwarded. Quality is great and really affordable.
