Took the Braketech plunge

Well, unable to leave well enough alone (damn OCMD....), I decided to order a pair of Braketech Axis Cobra (stainless steel) front rotors. These come in stock (298 mm) size only and are 5 mm thick. I have been looking at these for some time (initially intersted in teh Ductile Iron ones but decided against them due to rust issue).

I will mate these up with a set of Vesrah SRJL pads which are sitting on my desk waiting to be installed. My reason for doing so? Partly OCMD, partly to try something new (want to give the SRJL pads a whirl as they are claimed to be the top pad by those who use them, better to suited to stainless rotors, the EBCs have high iron content from what I can see). Also looking to shed a few ounces and clean up the front a bit (ie. lose teh caliper relocation brackets).

So, I will be parting with the current package (incl. 320mm EBC race rotors, Braketech/Ferodo caliper reloation brackets and slightly used RJL pads) shortly (will no longer need them and, besides, the sale will help subsidize my purchase). I have two parties who had expressed an interest in the parts so I will give them first dibs but if they pass, I will be listing them in the classified section.....

Ridable art.

(An example of unridable art is anything from Orange County Choppers)

I just got word back from the distributor and it seems BT only have the right side rotor in stock. They will have to produce the left side unit (as they are unidirectional). Expected wait time: @ 4 weeks (hopefully it won't drag on forever)......
