Suspension questions

Was wondering if a 1997 900rr front end would swap without any issues on my 04 sh? Also if it would be a worthwhile swap? From what i can see the fork tubes are larger in diameter. Which leads me to believe they would be an upgrade. Also could i swap rear shock with a 99 f4 shock? And would this be an upgrade?

the 900rr front end was the original front end swap and yes it is an improvement. Mikstr runs one on his bike.

For the shock, you need to talk with Jamie to get it set up to work on a SH.

No worries and another way to put it is that the 900rr front end worked just fine on this bike:

Ok. That bike is nuts. Does it have three radiators!? And wtf is going on in the tail section. I think I see a disassembled paintball gun in there....

Meh, no big deal. full spec race, pull every ounce of extraneous weight off the bike, make it uncomfortable as all hell.....

BUT WAIT!

Remember to polish frame!

I don't think the molecules that we're removed could justify it!

Or maybe it's for aerodynamics!

Well after you add the brace that ties the swingarm pivot to the rest of the frame (you did notice that right......) and all the internal bracing, you might as well polish it at that point..... ;)

a polished frame and 2 exhaust pipes make a proper bike IMHO.
