Superbike bar mod.

There's already a wealth of information pertaining to fatbars, and the superbike mod, but I figured I would start my own thread detailing my installation, and the different avenues I have taken.

I managed to find a cheap F4i front end - forks, triples, axle, spacer, rim, and rotors.

Turns out one of the rotors is tweaked, and the rim has some curb rash, so I decided to use the stock VTR wheel and rotors.

I had to use the F4i spacers and one of the VTR spacers to get the wheel aligned properly, and I had to shim the calipers with a couple small washers and use longer bolts. I managed to use the fork pinch bolts from the stock VTR front end as the new caliper bolts, so that was no big deal.

I opted to use the F4i front end instead of the stock VTR forks as they are approx. 20mm shorter than the VTR units, and I wouldn't have the fork tubes sticking too far out of the triples while maintaining close to the stock geometry.

The bearings were the same on the F4i as the VTR, so that made life easier too.

I picked up a Houser top clamp for an ATV and drilled the triple, the bars are from an early 80s CB900F- I tried the superbike bars, and dirt bars, but would have had to cut the fairing, and my buddy had these laying around...

the stock throttle cables pull al little too tight for my liking when turned full right, so I'll swap them out shortly for some longer ones.

I already had SS clutch and brake lines, and the brake lines were a little longer than the stockers.

Turns out the CB900 bars were slightly thicker than the standard 7/16, so I sanded the inside of a spare throttle tube I had to it wouldn't bikd up on the bar.

The bar bend is almost exactly the angle of the stock bars, just up and back.

Well, pictures are worth a thousand words... Crappy cell pictures, i'll get some with my cam when riding season starts.
