Sorry - Aftermarket Clutch Question again.
 

I know that has been asked before but after doing my searching i really did not find a good answer.

Looking for a good after market clutch and springs. also. What is better. Steel plates or aluminum.

My SH is not a race bike. I use it for the occasional street run but mostly a daily driver.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Barnett is actually what I was looking at. Steel plates and the new springs.

Are you currently running them?

i may be in the future,right now just stock in my basement.
bike is currently undergoing mods.

Is it true that kevlar plates flake and break? EBC makes kevlar clutch kits.

What are you trying to accomplish with your Aftermarket Clutch?

Better feel? Stronger grab?

The stock one is fairly stout, over 50,000 miles on mine and still works great, no big change in action/feel..

FYI, although I have not replaced a superhawk clutch as of yet, in my experience with motorcycles in general... order the clutch disks aftermarket if you like but stick with new OEM springs. All aftermarket clutch springs are "Heavy Duty" ranging from 10% - 20% stiffer than stock. This increased tension is actually overkill for any lightly modified street bike. You will feel that in the clutch lever with every pull... VERY HARD. Honda springs will keep the clutch from slipping just fine without causing any discomfort to your left hand.

the aluminum kits which are meant for racing will if not checked regularly.

Stock is the best way to go. The Honda clutch is so stout you really do not need anything else.
