Shimming the stock carbs
Ive done the bafflectomy and now have the lean carb cough. Can someone link me to a writeup that I can follow to shim the carb needles. I have searched but cant find a "shimming guide for dummies "
Also, do I need to re sync? They are fine at the moment, just running lean. |

I have 2 bros carbons and used this for a baseline and go pretty close. How do you know they are sync'd fine? While you have it apart at least put the valve on the front carb to do the sync if you chose later. I jetted then synced but not the same day. Jetting is more important |

I did come across that write up and was reading through it but wanted to double check. So according to this, it says to buy and install "a set of #48 pilot jets (per Dan Kyle & HRC)". Is this required? Can you just shim the stock needles as some have suggested on here? |
I dont think I changed the jets & it was fine. Just be real careful about the choke fittings. They are plastic where they bend 90* into the carbs and break easily.(effortlessly)

I have a spot on part throttle (maybe less than 1/8) where I get a good bit of bucking. I happends primarily when bike is cold. But will do it if I cruise in 6th at 3k. Did some reading on here and it may be a "Lean Cough"? Not sure. Haven opened up the carbs yet to see if PO did any work to them. Just wondering and throwing it out there.

It was a of the top of my head statment, more like any gear around 3k. As if your in traffic and at the part thottle cruze around 3k. |
