Roll of the dice on a YZF 600 R/R?

I haven't cross-referenced it yet, but off-hand can anyone tell me if the reg/rectifier off a 2005 YZF 600 would work on the Supe? I just scored one off the bay for under $25. It looks just like the one off of an R6, but that is just what it looks like... I couldn't tell if it was 5 wire, but it sure looked like it... Hope it works... I just jumped on it and bought it!

Maybe PM Tweety. He seems to know his shizzle on electrics.

So I guess if people are using the r/r from r6's, this looks like it should work... I will let ya know for sure. I know it is a 5 wire for sure now, too. Nothings wrong with my stocker, by the way, I am just gonna put this in as cheap insurance against a future failure keeping the stocker as a backup... or maybe fleabay it...

my guess is no. the only yamaha rr that the hawk can use are from pre-fuel injected R1's. it can't have fuel injection or its a whole different ballgame. at least that was the concensus when I had to get a new rr.

Well in the link thats in the r/r swap sticky, the guy uses a 2000 model r1 r/r and mentions that r6's use the same unit... I know thats NOT a 2005, but the link on regulatorrectifier.com says that its compatible with 2000 r6's so I am making an assumption without knowledge or access to microfiches or anything of that sort... It will be here tomorrow so I will know for sure how many wires it has, I think thats the real key to it being able to work.

OK. Got it today, it's a 5 wire job... Should work, no? Is it true, a fuel injected bike would make this job different?

OKAY I am an idiot... The sticky in the knowledge base shows my answer... Moderator if you want go ahead and delete this entire post, please!
Its the same part # as the one in the swap in the first link.

I replaced the OEM with an R/R from a 2007 R6. Five wires and exactly the same procedure as is put in knowledge base sticky by hawkrider. It works great!
