Adjustable fan switch

Adjustable fan switch
So for the last few summers I have searched for replacement fan switches that would turn the fan on at a lower temp.
I did find one that kicks on at like 88c instead of 100 but I think I found a better solution.
Turns our they sell relays that sense coolant temp in the radiator and activate the fan at variale temps which is adjustable.
This way you can choose the temp for the fan and adjust it plus no internal probe in the cooling system to worry about.
Anyway, this is one Hayden Fan Switch Thermostatic Radiator Probe Adjustable 160 240 Degrees F Kit | eBay
With summer on the way & vtrs running hot thought someone may want to do this. It lets the bike start cooling before its too late to catch up.

Although replacing the original switch with a variable one is a valid mod, I believe in keeping it simpler. This is what I use in my bike...and it works.
Even sitting at a few red lights in a row, in 30° + temperatures, I've never seen temp go beyond 100°.

Hmmm thats not bad, I guess if I lived in a hot area, I would consider that.
I changed mine **** about 10k ago (guessing) & used
Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant - Home
It did make the VTR run cooler - I'd say about 10 degrees.
And the next mod I do will be the bars - Heli or something or other - than I'm done modding it - I swear

I think its my riding environment. Here in the City I can rarely get enuff air flowing so am paranoid. I use evanscooling NPG plus waterless coolant. Its over the top expensive but wont boil (no water) and last almost forever. Home » Engine Cooling Systems
