Race Tech Springs Installed

Per recommendations from the forum, I had Race Tech .85s installed today.

Great improvement in the ride and much less dive under braking.

A side benefit has manifested itself also, the front is a smidge higher than before, which has relieved some of the pressure on my old arthritic hands...:D

Good stuff. Did you replace just the springs, or fluid as well?

Fluid replaced also, 10w fork oil I believe...

Cool. I've always been a believer that quality fluid made a difference almost as big as the springs themselves.

I probably weigh 175-180 with gear on...

With RT .95 and PVC preload spacers at about 3.5" + 2 RT washers top and one below the spacer. I like Silolene's synthetic fluid. Started with 15 wt cut down to about 12 wt with Mobil 1 syn ATF. Fluid level for my 225+# w/gear is about 5.25" from fluid level to top of vertical tubes, springs out and forks bottomed. I run rebound about 1/8" from full in and preload at 3~4 lines showing. Eventually I'm going to have greg do his magic on the forks. A Penske 2-way shock with ride height works just about perfect for the street. The Conti Sport Attack front & Road Attack rear seem like a good match.
