Question about Jet Kit

Hi, I recently installed a K&N filter on my bike. I already have a set of d&d pipes on it. The bike now seems to be "chuggy" or "bucky" around 3200-3500 rpms. I figure putting a jet kit on it will solve this problem. However, I was wondering does jet kit significantly reduce your mpg? Any other input on jet kits would be apprieciated THANKS A BUNCH.

If your bike has stock jetting and you now have a K&N then you will have to re-jet to get it right again, no doubt about it it. There is a bunch of information, and really smart people here when it comes time to install it.

+1 on what drew 14 said. You might want to try shimming the needles first. If that's not satisfactory, go for a jet kit. My guess is that, in normal street riding, you'd probably have worse mileage by keeping the bike revving above the range you find annoying than by having the bike jetted properly and making that rev range useable.

before I would re-jet, I would set your air mixture to 2 1/4 turns out, shim the needles to .40, and set your TPS at 450-500ohms. I modded my airbox and put a foam oiled filter with de-restricted exhausts along with the aforementioned mods and it runs perfectly.
