is this possible/easy
so i have stock SH forks, rc51 front brake upgrade.... i have the line on a local guy with a sp2 front wheel
how hard would it be to get the rc wheel mounted onto my stock forks? i missed the rc forks he was selling... MUCH to my dismay, or i wouldnt be asking if this was possible |
Axle and bearings are different, and brake rotor spacing will be a PITA, but it's possible... I wouldn't say easy through...
Much better to just get a proper adapter for it... IE a CBR 929/954/1000 fork... |
Std wheels are not so heavy, front with discs and bearings, without tyre, is on 15,058lb. Get SP2 wheel on scale to see if it makes sense to bother with.

Which, was sort of the point with what I said about a "proper adapter"... ;) Since the forks, if suited to the rider in springs/valving actually makes a difference to the handling of the bike, and with the larger rotors also braking, whereas the wheels on their own ,makes little difference... |
thanks for the replies guys, i think im just going to stick with the stock setup, the last two GOOD deals on swapable front ends have fallen through at the last second so it is not meant to be this season.
