mounting rc51 cans
1 Attachment(s)
i pulled the TBR cans off for a more street friendly set-up ( they are just too loud for me, for the street anyway )
a fellow rider gave me his rc51 cans so i went to town. first i wanted to retain the high mount mid pipes, so i cut the stocker 51's down & used an auto exhaust adapter for the midpipe - inlet size difference. i think it looks pretty good. tim |
looks pretty cool. does it sound any different than stock superhawk cans?

i bought the bike with the TBR exhaust - so i don't know. i'm waiting for the silicone to dry to test the db level. i'll adjust the outer baffle to get the sound i want. tim |

you know, I've been doing some research and I am pretty sure that when I thought I got hindles for my superhawk on ebay a year and a half ago, I actually got hindles for an rc-51. well either way I made them work, but it wasn't until recently that I gave the idea serious credence. you know how on ebay, sometimes even the sellers confuse the vtr1000f with the vtr1000 sp-1 (sp-2). well I think that's what happened. so by successfully mounting them, I accomplished a mod that I never intended. it doesn't look perfect, but it works, and they are highmount titaniums, so they were worth the trouble.
