MIG full systems?
http://www.exoticsportbike.com/vtr_10004.htm
Not sure if this is still current or not (the link above says the company is out of business while another, http://www.exoticsportbike.com/honda16.htm, claims they are back) but, if so, the prices look pretty good for full systems. Anyone try one of these before? cheers, |
I've got one in my garage.
Beautifully engineered, looks fabulous, sits very very high up and very close to the bike. Sadly, mine are old and shagged, but they'll be reborn at some point when I figure out what to do with them. Potential bad points are melting stuff - swingarm rear brake hose, undertray, tail fairings. Indicators, (your bike excepted) will have to be moved. Carbon fibre not the hardest wearing of materials on a big twin. Might not fit yours as they require the original passenger pegs and probably wont fit your ZX9 ones. Vid of mine fitted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlGvBodJFZo |
Hey man... are you following me? lol Or am I following you? :)
Did you have the full set-up or the slip-ons only? In terms of the pegs, I still have the stock one anyhow. Besides, as I now have a job that gives me a whole lot of acess to new bikes (for when I want to bring a passenger), I was thinking of making the VTR a solo project.... |
Mine wasn't a "full system" i.e. headers, links, cans.
On the MIGs the link pipes and cans are one piece - they're not slip ons. As far as I know they don't make headers either, so "full system" is probably referring to the links with cans on like I have. You can get cans seperately as slip ons, but why bother when the link pipes are the best feature of this brand. If you get over here for any reason, you can have these ones for nowt and rebuild them. Just need some very long hand luggage :) |
Mig
My Hawk actually had this exhaust on it when I bought it. I have the full system with the carbon fiber cans and it both looks and sounds great. I recommend the system to anyone...

i have migs on mine. very loud, throaty. great sound. have a buell thunderbolt and the note is better and tighter imho . and yes, the mounts are nice and tight to the undertail, mine ar about .5" from the plastic, but the carbon fiber cans are always cool to the touch
|
I have the migs on mine. I don't like the bitch peg mounts, but this is an opportunity to make some cool ones. They sound great and fit high and tight.
A bit loud tho. |
Anybody have the Viper cans? I have never heard of them or seen them. They were cheaply priced on www.exoticsportbike.com. $169.99 per can + $70.00 for the mid pipe. I dunno... I'm looking for something resonably priced.

Don't know what your time frame is, but did you sign up to win the Wolf exhaust? http://www.exoticsportbike.com/signup.htm

Hey guys, this is my virgin post. I've been a bit of a lurker in here since I discovered the site a week or two ago and joined just today. The previous owner of my 98 VTR installed MIG's on my bike. I am not sure if you can get them in this configuration anymore. Sorta like a big over-under shotgun. But I like them alot, sounds great, original looks, quality construction.
