Lowering Foot Pegs
I've done a search, and all the stuff points towards a BMW footpeg, but...when I click on the links....all 404.
I need another inch....-Richard Pryor said that too. |
I’ve noticed these for sale here and there. Might work for you. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shinobi-Bla...-/351086126830 |
Thanks, I'm looking into them. Asked if they might fit.
|
I've tried some pegs similar to those, no issues fitting them but I ran into a clearance issue with the gear shift lever. Granted I have big feet and seem to need my lever lower than others, but IIRC there was contact between the lever (where the rose-joint mounts) and the lowered peg mount when pushing the lever down.

Here's one thread regarding the Buell mod: https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...-w-pics-18257/. There are other threads if you do a search. |
on the aforementioned link I think I posted up about my mfw vario adjustable footpegs see below link
I think a 1in and a one and a half inch adapter is available and a couple three different styles footpegs all the Hondas use the same pivot piece I believeMuch tricker components then adapted Buell foot pegs I've been running the mfw units for at least Dozen Years and I'm no lightweight https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/mfw-vario-rider-footpeg-mounts-honda |

Been the best 5 years of my life...a moment here and there add up you know! Will report next year! Thanks everyone for your help! |
Those are basically knockoffs of the mfw vario footpegs but presumably made in China and cost less than half the mfw. I've looked at those before and they are a good alternative except how they keep from rotating for adjustment is different than the Varios which use a mating castle nut arrangement between the hinge piece and the arm, where is the knock-offs I believe have a hole and pin arrangement to keep them from rotating which could shear off if not made from decent SS and the aluminum is low grade. The MFW could never shear and made from aircraft grade materials

I adapted buell drop pegs years ago. I still have not figured out what to do about the height of the rear brake pedal.

remove cotter pin and lower double but trim off about 5 mm of threaded rod so rod does not impinge on clevis; no need for double nuts drill small hole in rod for safety wire rather than use cotter pin and adjust pedal down to taste I'll check when in my shop and take a picture and post it... |
