lightened flywheel review

got my lightened flywheel from E. Marquez yesterday and installed it this morning.

first of all he was a pleasure to do buisness with. really great communication. even took pictures and posted them along the way. he had a spare so i didnt have to ship mine out for lightening. i just swapped the one he sent me with mine. shiiping took 2 days. overall really great seller.

now the flywheel i got started at 7lbs 5 3/8 oz and was reduced to 5lbs 4 5/8oz so a total weight reduction of 1lb 3/4oz. but im going to weigh the flywheel that was in my bike later to see what the difference is between the old and new flywheels.

ive only been a couple miles around town and on a couple stretches of road that i could open it up a little bit. DEFFINATLEY noticable how much faster the revs climb. the bike easily lofts the front wheel and pulls much harder and quicker.

im really glad i did it. really cool to be able to feel the difference before and after a mod.

one thing i was wondering is would this have any affect on engine braking? i noticed a much less engine braking effect. i thought i read in a thread that lighter flywheels increase engine braking so im wondering why im noticing less engine braking?

overall highly recomend it!

It will have more engine braking. Not sure why you noticed less? Reason being is the "braking" effect from the compression in the pistons has less momentum to overcome from the lighter flywheel.

Should defo have more engine braking!

The flywheel is one of the best mods I have done in so far as it allows the motor to get to that meaty torque quicker.

I really noticed the difference when riding my favourite twisty mountain road.

+1 for me.

Funny how back tires don't last as long now.

How do I get in contact with E. Marquez? I tried doing a search for "E. Marquez", but nothing pops up.

Unless I can't remember how to calculate US weight in pounds, the lightened flywheel based on your weights is a bit over 2 pounds lighter not 1; i.e., 117.375 oz - 84.625 oz = 32.75 oz / 16 = 2.047 pounds lighter...

Erik sent me one that was almost exactly 1 pound lighter, which is what I desired but have not installed yet.
