Leo Vinci's Highmounts

is anyone running the leo vinci highmount? i was wondering how they sounded and how they looked on the bike. i have a leo on my race bike and it sounds awesome, but i cant compare the sound of it to the hawks v-twin.

finepooch 12-20-2008 07:22 AM

i like leo vince, a lot. i bought an arrow for my gixxer. later my buddy bought a leo vince. i saw the quality and heard the sound, quickly became jealous! if i was buying an exhaust it would be leo vince. i'd go high mount in aluminum.

Woodytick 12-20-2008 03:10 PM

yea thats what i'm looking for, but i really wanna turn this thing into a single side exhaust with the leo.

I am running dual Leo titaniums on my bird. Not high mount though. They bark something fierce. sounds great.

don't much care for them on here. JMO

Different bike of course.

Does anyone know if there are any actual differences in the slip ons specific to your model or are they pretty generic internally. ???

Ok, that sounds WAY better than that asthmatic SV clip.

i like the dual pipe on a v-twin. but - "to each his own"!!!
will the single pipe demand re-jetting?

yea i'm pretty sure it would. but i am thinking about going a totally different way with it now. hotbrakes made some cool looking moto gp style pipes for his bike. i love the looks of them on there so i think i am gonna go that way with them.

finepooch 12-25-2008 05:42 PM

i think i saw that thread. might be interesting

Woodytick 12-25-2008 06:45 PM

yea they are very cool looking. he said that he really couldnt notice a change in the power. i sent him a pm and asked him a couple of questions on them. so i am waiting to hear back.

Some of the smartest people on this forum have tried the single exhaust and nobody has made it work. If you want your bike to look like and I4 go buy one.

If you gotta do duals the highmounts are the best but the undertails are just sweeeet! I really like the pipes on the CBR's and late Interceptors.

Just for good measure, here's a pic of the back with the leo's.

Keep in mind that if you keep the stock undertail, you cannot use the stock turn signals because the leo's follow the lines of the rear body and are very long. This is why I went with new under.

i like the way it looks from the back. its more clean then the low hanging pipes. the plan though is to change the entire tail. the huge brake light has to go. i plan on replacing it with a race tail like on my CBR and led brake & turn signals.

i waiting to hear back from Hotbrakes and see how well his machine is performing. i really like the gp's he made for his bike. if they are working well for him, then i am gonna wait till i get home in 83 days and make a set similar to his. don't want to steal his ideas but that exhaust is just to cool. plus it will save me an ass load of money over buying a new system.

The Jardines hang a very similar line. I don't have an undertail kit but I did ditch the stock signals.

Good to see that yellow bitch back in the mix. Happy New Year, bro! All the best.
