interest check. prefabbed braced swingarms.

Seeing if there is any interest in having braced swingarm "kits" made to order. Since my buddy is a very good welder and did my own brace I've been thinking about putting together a kit to sell. I only contempkate this because i talked to at least 15 different wleders before i found one that welded aluminum. It would consist of

A VTR swingarm with a 93-95 CBR 900RR brace welded to it
A 900rr caliper bracket

Considering the cost of those parts and my time they would probably sell for $250 plus shipping to your location. That's not really much profit considering the VTR swinger goes for around 40-50. The 900rr swinger goes for about 50-80 and the caliper bracket goes for 10-20 plus the cost of the welding is about 100, I may get the price down if I have multiples done at once

It would be ready to bolt on once you receive it or prepped and powder coated of you choose that.

Let me know if there is interest and I will see if its worth doing.

I would be very interested in this, I happen to be local as well haha :)

Sounds very tempting. Will the stock caliper mount on the 900RR bracket?

I'm interested. When do you see the swingarms in production?

Yep.

VTRDarren 06-05-2014 05:59 PM

I'd likely go for one.

jscobey 06-05-2014 08:13 PM

let me talk to my fabricator and see how much he would charge for the welding if we've got say 5 or more.

id also think about refunding some of the money (the going rate for a VTR swinger) if i was able to get your original swingarm after i sent the new one to keep the cycle going.

ill get back to you all with more info and when i think i could get the first lot made. im gonna see what the parts are going for right now on fleabay.

Love one, but shipping will be rough.

Any idea yet if this is something you see happening? Considering my next round of mods... OCMD strikes again.

Anybody got a spare bike so NZ could come pick up his swinger and we could show him around? Good riding here in east tn and nc

festertruck 07-20-2014 08:23 PM

possible interest on my part. will monitor this thread for developments.

jscobey 07-21-2014 08:52 AM

yea its deffinatley going to happen. my welder actually got hurt while riding so hes been out for a little bit hence no forward movement with the swingers yet.

ive already picked up a lot of the parts so things should get rolling pretty soon here. i have enough for 3 or 4 kits thus far. ill update you guys when i hear from him.

I'm very interested as well. I'm local too (HB). Let me know if I can help.

HRCA#1 09-22-2014 10:30 AM

I'm interested! I already have a 900 swinger and available VTR unit, just couldn't find a competent or reasonable welder!

Upland111 09-22-2014 12:03 PM

I would likely be up for this mod also....Thanks for the effort!

CruxGNZ 09-22-2014 12:46 PM

Not sure if he's doing this anymore.
Not to long ago, he sold a bunch of parts in the classifieds, some of which were Superhawk swingarms.
I could be wrong though. Maybe the swingarms he sold weren't up to par?

HRCA#1 09-22-2014 12:57 PM

If he's not still doing it how about the name and number for his welder?
