Help With Gear Change

Hi
I have read alot of the post concerning sprocket and chain change overs and have been left a little confused. Correct me if I'm wrong but the stock set-up is 16T front,41T rear. I agree with everyone that the stock gearing is tall. My driving style is from 0 to no more than 100 MPH and mainly street driving. I have no interest in long haul runs or driving super fast. I would like the bike to have more grunt down low, but would like the front wheel to sort of stay on the ground.
From reading some people say to just change the rear sprocket and leave the front alone. While others say to do the 15/43 or 15/41 set-up. Could someone make a suggestion based on my style of riding. Also I guess the word is to get a correction unit for the speedo. Thanks very much

I'm with you on that one, I would also like to regear since I very rarely get into sixth gear. I've been told that regearing may cause a decrease in mileage so I've held off.

love my 15/43 but I like the front wheel to come up as far as speedo healer still havent done this need to cause the miles do seem to roll faster. but really with that gearing and the rc45 throttle tube I do have to try and get the front off the ground. although I am at 6500 ft elev.

Thanks for the replies, still not sure which way to go on this one.
AZHawk1, what is a rc 45 throttle tube??

Blue, sounds like the 15 / 41 is best for you.

Personally, I have no problem with the stock gearing. The 'Hawk's plentiful torque can pull it easily, you will maximize your tank range, and there is no need to recalibrate the speedo. You can always just ride around a gear lower.

Thanks to everyone for the input!!

rc 45 throttle tube is from a vfr 750 and requires less twist to achieve full throttle. good luck.
