i know that i sound like an idiot probably, but oh well...just wondering if anybody could give me some help with my fox shox rear shock with the external reservoir... i am just wondering how to adjust everything... i would goto the company... but as some of you may know, they dont make street motorcycle shocks anymore...damn you's all to hell! anyway, thanks for the help!

I'll help you with it. Just send it to my house and I'll mount it,then try it out, in November I'll send it back :)

Just kidding. I think the setup would be the same as far as getting the damping correct. See if you can find setup instructions for a Penske or similar.

Re: FOX SHOX

First thing, set your SAG. Next back off the adjusters and work your way up till it just gets too stiff and uncompliant.

The "clicker" on the reservoir is compression and the one on the bottom of the shock is rebound. To get in the ballpark, push down on the rear seat hard and quickly let go. If rear bounces more than once, up the rebound until it only bounces once.

Next, use a bumpy local road you know real well and ride it over and over and over as you stop and make adjustments.

You should have time to get it dialled in by then! :P

I think you can still send them to Fox for service. I think I will at the end of the season.

I don't have my notes for what I use for damping settings. Compression damping adjustment is on the reservoir. I'm pretty sure I'm at 5 or 6. Rebound damping adjustment is the red collar below the spring. something like 12 clicks out.

Re: FOX SHOX

I've never seen used ones of any manufacturer on eBay. If anyone hears/sees/knows of any used/rebuildable/rebuilt rear shocks, please let me know.

Thanks!
