Foot pegs

Today I spent a good three hours tearing up Deals Gap and the ride was great except for the foot pegs. I just couldn't get my foot positioned to where I was comfortable going around some of the more challenging turns. I have the stock pegs on and managed to scrape them once which I wasn't happy about. It through my concentration and balance way off half way through the turn. This usually doesn't bother me because I've dragged the knee followed by a peg before not the opposite way around. Is there a good aftermarket peg available without having to switch out the rear set?

I'll sell you a pair of LP footpegs never used still in package for $10 plus shipping. They are the round ones not the slash cut.

There was a German seller on ebay who has some that rotate either up or down from the stock location. I think they were about $129. Some on the forum recently got a set. Try a search.

It's incredibly easy to drag a peg on that road. Motorcycling nirvana IMO.

Re: Foot pegs

I usually don't mind dragging a peg but the last couple of times I did it on my KLR I ended up lowsiding, so I still get kinda freaked when I do drag a peg. I have the LP footpegs I just need to get off my *** and put them on.

My mistress has been Statistics and micro-economics for the last two weeks so I haven't had a chance to deal with my peg issue.

Not to second guess your riding style, but you can counterbalance your amount of lean angle by shifting more of your weight to the inside of the turn. I'm not sure how far you are off the bike (full race position) but it's a give and take, unless you are at the limit of both lean angle and weight shift. I know CNI Dawg is running Gilles rearsets that are adjustable, but if you want just pegs, you can always go with the LP slashcut ones, which don't hang down nearly as far as the stock ones. I'm sure most of this is info you already know.
