Foot Pegs

I'm looking to replace my stock (rubbery feeling) pegs with something
that offers a better, none slip feel to the foot. Other then adapting a
moto cross peg to the bike, which is overkill, does anyone have a good
suggestion for me. I've looked a little into the EMGO anodized pegs, but
not sure I'm crazy about the roundness of the peg. Seems to me that in hard cornering your foot would tend to roll off.

EMGO anno peg: I am using those right now. The anno wears off after a bit. The roundness is not an issue with me if I am wearing proper footwear. Riding boots with grippy rubber? No problem. Cowboy boots with leather soles? I've had a foot slip in a hard turn. I grip pretty well with my knees, so it's not really an "oh shit" moment, but more like a "huh?".

That being said, I wouldn't recommend them to everyone, and am also interested in what other people use. I know a few taller people use the dropped Buell footpegs.

That's the issue also. I'm five eleven, but on the lighter side of the scale for my hight. But you can see that my foot seems to rest more to the forward face of
the peg then the top. I sometimes need to remind myself to place my foot back on the peg.

These look to have a bit more aggresive "tread pattern" on them. we stocked them where i used to work and the looked of good quality.

Thank you merckid, they do look like they would work. Have you tried
them yourself, or just sold them ?

Hey Moore, do the metal pegs vibrate through the foot more than the oem pegs? Even with oem pegs and thick soled riding boots my feet start to get numb after a while.

7moore7 Aug 1, 2012 11:59 AM

I don't notice any extra vibration, even on extended rides. But I may not be the best judge of that... sometimes I'm unknowingly tolerant to those things. I drive around an '87 pickup that I happily take on 15 hour trips, and some people I can't pay to join me in a drive across town.

You think your feet go numb from vibration or maybe circulation being restricted somewhere along the leg?

Google "Cycle Pirates 360 pegs"

Just another option.....FWIW

FYI, I did not notice any more vibs through these pegs compared to the stock pegs. I thought it might be a problem, but fortunately it was not.
The only complaint I have, is it forces your foot out another 1/2" or so, but I found this to be a much better solution, having tried the Buell peg conversion first. These you can move up, down, forward, back, (within their range of adjustment), as I and other members here that have these can attest to.

Thanks Upland, they really look good. If functional, even better.
I'll look into this.

Did the mounting kit come with the pegs, or was this seperate ?

merckid Aug 1, 2012 01:20 PM

i have not tried them, just carried them in the store. Im personally not a fan of any aftermarket pegs. to me they just never match up to the factory pegs.

Definitely vibration. I find myself alternating between ball, arch, and heel of my feet on extended rides to allow part of my foot to recuperate. Maybe I should install highway pegs haha

I have no issues with my metal pegs. ;)

Upland111 Aug 1, 2012 03:20 PM

Mounting kit was seperate from the pegs, as advertised on several Web Sites...
Good Luck with your search.
