f4i penske help

I can get a penske shock for 250 but its for f4i, anyone know the cost involved to make compatible with vtr

Your best bet would be to contact Penske and ask them. The shocks are modular and it shouldn't take too much to convert it but I am not up on Penske prices. ;)

Jamie D. took my old 80's Works Performance shock from the VF500 which used a ball and spring damping system and fitted a modern Gold Valve into it. I'm sure he can probably fix that Penske right up for you without any trouble. I've typically seen that run around $200 but I'm not sure what he'll charge. Might want to ensure the spring is right for you too. Shoot him a PM.

Totally forgot about Jamie.....

Yeah he should be able to get it set up for you. ;)

Jamie can convert add an adapter to a stock F4I shock and make it work on the Superhawk. I bet the same adapter will work for the penske, since it is for the F4I.

Nah, not the same adaptor. It's a different modification but still doable for sure. Don't forget that the spring is all wrong and you would also want to adjust the valving too. Penske shocks are the best aftermarket shock, so even with the extra cost to convert you would have a very nice shock when you are done.

So how much for getting it done

I heard that the stock shock on the 2008 GSX-R1000 is an easy fit......
