Exhaust Question
 

I am making a set of aluminum high mount mufflers. My question is for anyone with a similar flow through muffler set up. I want to mount them close to the tail section but I don't want to damage the paint or plastic. My cans will have a flow through design as opposed to the restricted design of the OEM so I think that will make them run cooler and the aluminum should dissipate heat better. Do the aftermarket aluminum mufflers get as hot as the stock cans?

C'mon, somebody with aftermarket exhaust has had to checked to see if their mufflers have gotten hot!

No in my opion they dont.... they cool way faster when you stop too. and if you are afaird of you melting the plastic then put a heat shield up there.
