exhaust help

I have the stock rear pass. peg brackets. the clamp on my new exhaust pipes does not tighten down on the new pipes the pass.peg bracket is to wide. do I need to grind some of the bracket off so it can tighten down? can anyone recall having this problem?

Thanks in advance,Neil

Are you saying the bolts that came with your exhaust are too short to fit the stock pass brackets? Can you just use the stock bolts? Sorry I'd like to help maybe I'm a little confused.

sorry, with the band around the exhaust and the bolt through the band and the peg bracket and tightend the band is still not tight to the can? the width of the peg bracket is to wide if it was narrower the band would tighten down on the can

Squeze the band together, put the bolt thru it, then slide the bolt into the bracket and put the nut on the other side of the bracket. The band does not go on both sides of the bracket, just on one side. Then it will tighten up on the can.

I think he means that the whole band is too long therefore would fit loosely and not holding the pipes tight. I had suggested that he put a rubber band much like those that comes with the hindles to have a snug hold

calitoz,p.m. sent. senecagreen, your right I got it figured out they supplied a spacer that went in between the clamp and the peg bracket thanks to all I'll try to get pics of the wmp's up soon
