Exhaust

I recently, put a jet kit, filter, and Jardines on my superhawk. The exhaust leading to the muffler is turning a golden color, while obviously the miffler stays silver. Is there a lean/rish issue with the bike? Also, what is a good polish for aluminum exhausts.

Very normal and for me unfortunate! I was disappointed in Jardine for sending mill finish mid pipes with such nice looking cans. (They sound good too!) I went to all the expense of having my header done this winter only to have the mids color out on me after only a few minutes of running. After my crash, those were the first parts off the bike and sent them to Jet Hot for coating like the header.

How does it run? The backfiring as you call it is due to PAIR. Do a search and disable it.

Thanks

Yeah,

There were three, because I didn't know how much attention it was going to get on the first thread. You all seemed to see each and every one, so that will never happen again. But since I have your attention, I am looking for the best carb jet settings with an after market kit, filter and exhaust. I think the dealer who did mine did it correctly, but you always want to be sure for yourself. Thanks, and I will not post this anywhere else.
