Dyna Beads
 

has anyone here ever used dynamic balancing beads? They are the little ceramic beads that you inster in your tire for a "perfect" balance. i think i am going to try them. just wanted to hear some oppinions.


I dont mean to get too BMW here lol... sounds like some high tech thingy they would have on their bike forum

Never tried them myself but I have heard they work very well on 4x4 mudder trucks with big tires since a lot of them cannot be balanced on a normal machine - some of those guys even use golf balls on those things... same principle so I would assume it would work on bike tire.

Sounds like the same idea that we run in our mud truck. We use golf balls because of the size of tire, 44". They help in that application. I used to run a balance powder in my tire for my street rig. It had 35" tires and worked well as long as you didn't let it sit to long. Then all of the powder would settle in one spot. The idea is right for the beads, but with most motorcycle tires it it generally the rim that you are balancing. Tires nowadays a quite true in form, unless you set the real cheapoo tires.

a lot of guys on the VTX forum use the balancing beads and love them...but there's also the other faction that think they're ridiculous

i have been asking around in dallas at a some bike shops and people who have used them love them and the every person that freaks out when they hear dyna beads say they hate them... but cant tell me why...

so, i am putting mine in tonight. goodbye weights. I will let yall know how i like them in a couple weeks.

a good friend of mine used them is buell and said they work great, so i bought some for the hawk. I just need to find a video camera so i can give this tire i have on it now a good smokie ending.
