A differnt kind of FORK SWAP--- lots more travel.. any ideas

is there any way to bolt up a front fork from a modern dirtbike that will provide lots of travel? would they be able to support the bike what so ever? dunno curious...thoughts ?

dirtbikes don't weigh very much, like 2-300 lbs, so I imagine the forks wouldn't do a very good job with the VTR. Something more like a BMW gs bike, or a vstrom, or a varadero would probably be a better source

Hmmm, you will have problem mounting the VTR brake calipers on a dirk bike fork!
Dirk bikes usually only run one disc brake up front so you would need two of the db forks with caliper mounts.

Its been done. If you search there is a guy that added either longer fork tubes to the stock base or adv bike fork. Don't think he took it off road though

After seeing your post I remembered a guy who made an adv bike out of an EX500. He used klr 650 forks which seem like they would work here too, just with stronger springs.

I would look at the VStrom forks. Those would be closest thing I can think of that would work.

Vstrom are for sure the best bet but they would sure be unobtanium for such a new bike.
