danmoto exhaust

ok so iv searched and read just about every thread containing info in danmoto pipes. i didnt see much on tuning.

for anyone who has them, what kinda changes have you made with jetting, needles, pilot jets and what not?

would like a good starting point i guess

im looking onto the carbon gp's

Don't get the carbons get the titanium ones. Carbon burns up way too fast.

+1, especially since Danmoto are small and have little packing. Unless you religiously re-pack it's not worth getting the carbon.

After blowing through a set of carbon Muzzy's, I got the little titanium danmoto things and to warn you, they are loud! And not super pleasant sounding compared to other brands... although they are very worth the price in terms of quality IMO. I've done the carb setup that 8541Hawk has posted; it seems to do well for slip-ons.

If you looking into carbon anyways, I think the following is a much better product and still very affordable, the link is just an example, they have allot more choices:
Delkevic 18" Carbon Fiber Exhaust Slip Ons Mufflers VTR1000 97 98 99 00 01 02 03 | eBay

thanks for the opinions fellas. the only reason i was looking into them was the price, dont have much to spend currently.

i checked out some different Delkevic systems and found these.

Delkevic SS70 Stainless Steel Exhaust Set Muffler VTR1000 97 98 99 00 01 02 03 | eBay

may give these a try. thoughts?

From the pics they seem on par quality wise to the DanMoto... I can only speak to the latter though. FWIW I really like the exhaust, they just don't sound as nice as a pair of $800 two bros. But they are functional, seat of the pants dino didn't detect any change, and build quality is very nice for a Chinese product. Personally I like the slightly longer, slimmer look of the DanMoto compared to those Delkevic ones.

Those do look like they have more room for packing so likely dampen sound slightly more... maybe you'd be a good guinea pig? I don't see why they wouldn't function...

I agree with you on the look, but for practical use... sound and not enough beef for packing! Delkevic also comes with a quick removable long insert baffle which is a nice add on.

I have the GP extreme cans. You can see them here :
I followed 8541hawk's Carb Setup and it was a good starting point. I love the sound (kinda raspy when I get on it) I like the look and price. 4500 miles and they still look great.

I personally like the shorties look, but if you want a deeper nice bass sound you should consider the long mufflers instead
