Convertibars in probate

I just tried to order convertibars and found out that the owner died and they are now in probate and not accepting any new orders for at least a couple months, with no guarantee of ever starting again. I tried some other places, and they are all out of stock. I'm in the middle of collecting parts for my front end swap to CBR1000 stuff, and these were the only bars I found that had the adjustability and rise that I wanted, so now I'm stuck.

What bars have others used (preferably ones that are available for purchase) in this conversion that worked and allowed at least stock height for the clip-ons? Is there anything out there like convertibars? Does getting back to stock height require exactly 3" of rise?

I was planning on using the stock CBR1000rr master cylinder.

There are these, they seem like they would work pretty well and the price is decent. They even show a video all about them.

If you can't find them in stock at any parts houses by searching online, you may also find them on ebay-I bought a set used off there once for a really nice price. If you don't have any luck check out gillestooling.com. I believe the variobars they make have even more adjustments than my convertibars.

HEY! I was just about to start a thread about this!. Just got my apex riser bars today. They are really nice & amazingly adjustable. HERE IS THE TRICK: Order them & than call the next morning to cancel the order. This way you get them shipped out immediately & get them the next day! I did this accidently but when I called I got a machine & left a message for the cancellation, I believe this got them shot out in 2 seconds. My other SH has heli bars & I like these better & are half the price. get these.....(I am putting them on my 1000RR front end bike) You gotta get the riser ones to fit

Yeah I love my apex risers, they are very adjustable for fine tuning. Only thing I wish they didnt have the fixed angle, but they are a very tolerable angle.

I used these for my cbr 1000 swap and they worked very nicely, they are pretty expensive though.

Look for the menu on the left for clip-ons, 50 mm tall boys

Thanks everyone. I went with the Apex adjustable risers. They look almost as adjustable as the convertibars, and were at least $100 less. Should be on their way . . .

this is terrible news about the owner of convertibars. I saw a post on this on a VFR forum, saying he died of cancer. He was a young guy, inventor and started this company. He was one of the first to start producing an adjustable bar system. I met him probably 10 years ago when I bought a set and the compnay was in St. Paul Mn area. He was a genuine nice guy trying to do a good business and I have never seen any customer service related complaints. Was trying to get OEM manufacturers interested in his design to incorporate somehting similar into stock design for quite a long time. Anyway, the product is great and I understand from reading other forums that they are still going to be available.
