While they are not exactly cheap, I picked them up on eBay for a little over half price (used for 2007+ CBR600RR), said to have only 700 miles......) Should mount right up to the front (will need new carriers for CMC rotors; will finance by selling off the Galfers) as I am using triples from same bike. From what I have read, fitting the rear will involve new spacers (larger 25mm axle; need a new sprocket too, of course).... I can recycle my Ti rotor bolts too.... big, big weight savings on the horizon......:)

Of course, I will be parting with my existing PVM magnesium wheels and Cobra rotors, which should pay for a reasonable part of the swap.....

wow youve got one of the best street going VTR's out there. i love seeing all the trick bits on the hawk. any idea the weight of those bad boys? i know you already are rockin some high end wheels but now with these and the Braketech's, can you say flickable???

what do you want for the galfers? im not sure but i think they are the same for the Rc51 wheel like i need. it might only by the CBR1000's though. ill look into it

IIRC, they have the same bolt pattern. However, they are 310mm whereas the RC51 rotors are 320mm..... Not a problem for radial calipers (shim in or out) but can be an issue for axial-mount calipers......

as for the wheel weights, here is what I found: 4.85 lbs F and 10.56 R, which would make them about 15 lbs lighter than stock. THrow on a set of CMC rotors which are likely about 3 lbs lighter and you are talking 18 lbs of unsprung, rotating weight.... should liven it up nicely (not to mention out of this world braking!) :)

Just did a quick calculation, and this should get me safely under the 400 lb wet barrier, with over 20 lb loss in spinning weight......

wow that is seriously impressive. dropping weight is like upping HP in a sense. and especially when youve shaved 20 or so lbs off the rotating mass. id love to get by bike to 125hp, 80 ft lbs, and 400 lbs ready to ride. thats around 40 - 50 lbs lighter than stock. and almost half in rotating weight is pretty crazy!!!

i know you mostly tour it but id like to see what kind of lap times your VTR would put down compared to a stock VTR. my guess would be a very dramatic difference.

My RC51 was 380 lbs semi-dry in track-only form. Carbon wheels will be amazing!

Most mags listed the curb/wet weight of the VTR at between 475 and 480 lbs.....

Where do you get all these bits from? Parts like that just don't exist here in Oz, or if they do I can't find them.

Those are great looking wheels. I have a car weight at work. Once the wheels are on, we can weigh the bike and see the difference.

Looking forward to getting it onto a scale once it`s all done.....
