CCT advice
Quick question - how can I tell if my 'new' 2000 VTR has had the CCT mod?
Any advice welcome...thanks.. |

The manuals look like this

well you can look in your manual or download the one on the forum, or look on the internet if you don't know where they're at or look like. Look at the them and look at yours and if there like the one above, you know you have the adjustable type. However, if they're the same as OEM, there are two scenarios, they're OEM or replaced with new OEM.

the cct thing has to be the most unsettling thing about our bikes. as soon a i learned the motor could self destruct i ordered the ape's. but after having them installed i still worry about them being to tight or to loose. i just wish they had self adjusting cct's that had no way to fail.

Actually, some chaps on the vtr1000.org site have come up with a mod that can be done to the stock CCTs that makes them fail-proof. Do a search and it should pop up.

Cheers - that's a great start guys - appreciated!
