Can't Wait to Install DMr Stuff!

Got my DMr shock and fork cartridges. Really looking forward to seeing how different it feels.

Nice! Take ride height measurements front and rear so you have a baseline. I'll dig up my sag calculator later this evening when I get home from work if you need one.

PT Matt2 03-01-2019 04:37 AM

Certainly will. Been watching a million Dave Moss suspension videos, static sag, rider sag, setting rebound damping, the good stuff.
Have some Sonic Springs to install in my ZRX's ZX14 forks, so I'll be busy for a while.
Getting ready for the North Georgia mountains in May, annual pilgrimage with a few buddies.

You will love the back shock,

Such an improvement over the standard item, the difference is unbelievable.

Get them in and enjoy the ride.

Hi PT Matt2,
we also can't wait how different it feels. I am particularly interested in the behaviour of the modified fork. Any progress yet?

PT Matt2 04-08-2019 01:45 PM

Unfortunately not.
Been working on my ZRX, and just picked up a 2003 Suzuki DR200SE to teach my 14 year old son to ride on.
Have everything, just need to get around to doing the work.

Keep us updated. I have one of his shocks on my SSS VTR. That reminds me I gotta contact Jamie to see about a rebuild.

Oh and you waited til age 14 to teach him to ride?

Yeah, well.....

He wasn't ready until now.
He didn't get athletic skills, proprioception, daring attitude, or any of that stuff from me. He's always been a very mellow kid. Never climbed out of his crib, never was adventurous. Polar opposite of me as a kid. He wants to learn now, so here we go.

I can see that you have set the right priorities for you, i.e. working on the Kawasaki and teaching your boy, how to ride a motorcycle.

I can offer you, that you send me the fork cartridges and I check them out for you, If you whish, I can check them out even at the Nürburgring Nordschleife (the Green Hell). That will give a good first impression of their performance.

Just had to ask, I have a 5yr old son now. We bicycle to school every day & dirt bike after school. My race buddy whose a champion roadracer's son never wanted to touch a bike quad or sled. Its always different.
Best wishes for the experience ahead. See if you can get him to wrench a bit too.

He does like to wrench we me, and he's going to be doing most of the wrenching on this bike, while I'm right there.
👍
