Bracing Superhawk Swingarm

I posted this in another post already, but I thought I'd post it fresh for those who were not following the "Swingarm Spools on a VTR?" post.

I just got my swingarm back from the fabricator last week. I had a brace from a donor 900rr swingarm welded onto the Superhawk swingarm

Here are the pics

Here is the Clearancing that had to be done to fit the caliper

Hmm, I thought the SH used tuned flex in the swingarm as a part of torque management relative to chassis flex, etc.
I wonder if adding the brace will have any adverse, unexpected effect?
Either way it looks real snazzy!

Tuned flex......is that like erectile disfunction?

The Donor was easy to find on ebay. Cost me $60 shipped. The Fabrication work cost me $250. Not bad when you consider buying one that is done from scratch. I don't remember who was making them, somewhere in England I think, but they were something like $850.

Looks like they did a nice job on the welds. please post how it behaves when you get it installed on the bike.

Were you having a problem with flex?

Not necessarily. I did it just to stiffen the rear up and I thought it would look really cool. :D

NICE!!! I want to see it running!

Thanks, it might be a another week or so before I get it on the bike. I've decided to get it powder coated black. I'm going to paint the frame to match the powder coat for now and next winter take the frame to get powder coated too. Hopefully early next week I'll be done painting the plastics also. :)
