Blue Flame Oval (newbie)

Hi there. I've just bought a 2005 VTR 1000 in very nice condition with just 2000 miles on the clock. I collect it next week.

This is the first non fuel injection bike I've bought, and my previous bikes: sv650, gsxr600 and CB1300s all coped fine when I changed the end cans.

I have ordered a pair of road legal cans from blue flame. I'm not looking for any performance gains as such, I just prefer the look to the stock ones, and I don't plan on taking the bd killers out, or messing with the air box etc.

My question is: will my bike run ok if I leave the db killers in, and everything else standard, or will it need tuning?

Thanks.

Vast majority of road legal cans are specifically designed to require no rejetting or tuning.

I had Blue Flame Evo cans on mine and had it on the dyno too. It was fine.

That's a relief. Thanks :D

Yeah, If the cans are U.K. street legal, the jetting should be fine. If you're feeling bold and agressive, you might want to shim the needles and check/reset the throttle position sensor for best throttle response.

You'll probably love the carbs... the fuel delivery on my bike seems very smooth.
