Which Bar Risers Should I Get?

Well its time to make this mod for me, getting too old & fat (really need to shed 30lbs - but thats another story)

So, which bar risers should I get? Does size vary? What sizes R good?

I know there is Gen Mar & I forget the other name.

Also, who has the best $?

Thanks in advance

I got the Apex adjustable 3" riser bars for my CBR1krr front end. They sell them in VTR size too. I think they were $189, best bang for the buck out there it seems...lots of adjustability, and the finish/quality is very nice

I put superbike bars on mine. Got some used risers off ebay for 20 bucks, about 70 for the bars, and another 20 for a longer clutch line. I'm very happy with the results.

Did you have to do any fairing trimming? Any pics, by chance?

Race Shop, Inc. : ANGLED HANDLEBAR RISERS - $59.95

$50, get the 15 degree 2" rise, and you may be able to use stock lines. Probably have to trim the "ears" off the fairing, pretty easy if you are good with a dremel, I've done it on a couple bikes. My SH is naked so my pics wouldn't help you. I also went with a Renthal bar, ultra low I think, $60 on ebay.

Great, thanks for the tip.

Yes, I trimmed a bit. You also have to be careful of the angle due to tank contact if you try to keep them too low. There was a happy medium that seemed to work well.

No pics, but I'll take some this evening. I've been meaning to do that and post them.

Thanks. I've been thinking of this mod since I got my VTR. I'm pretty sure I could handle the trimming, but as you mentioned I want to be careful not to have the bars banging against the tank at full lock.

I've got Genmars. They install in 5 minutes, raise bars about 3/4" and make a noticable difference.

I bonded a couple of small rubber pads onto the stops, to keep the bars from hitting the tank. You can still lock the fork, and the turning radius decrease is not noticable.

A little pricey but imo well worth it. I have been pinching pennies for this set up for quite some time. LSL set up.
