when i ride its mostly straight highways, i live out here in west texas, and whenever i get on my bike i go atleast 30 miles, i made a trip up to lubbock, and every about 14 or 15 miles, my right hand would go numb, and when i step off that bike all my bones are just crunchin,, whats the deal with the hand goin asleep

options:
- check carb synch as out-of-synch carbs will cause excessive vibration
- switch to higher bars (VFR, Helibars,...)
- heavier bar ends (to dampen vibration)
- gel grips (same as above)
- install a Vista-Cruise or similar throttle lock to allow you to rest your hadn from time to time

alright yea, i got the bar ends on there but i was told the only other way to go was to put in a steerin damper, and that cost 450+ so i was gonna see another way to go , but i'm gonna get the throttle lock for sure, thanks man

Also, make sure you aren't putting undue pressure on your hands. Keep your elbows pointing down not out when you ride.

I had the smae problem with my new st3 duck. I put on the converti bars and no more falling asleep. I'm short so long reach is my problem. The duck has a longer reach than the SH which I put the Heli bars on. Good luck

I had the same problem. I tried the jells - no help. I put on the 11.75 oz stainless bar end weights - nothing. I bought Helibars and even with no Honda internal weights or the stainless bar ends, things were immediately better. Then I added the Honda internals and the stainless bar ends with new jells (Owry). Now the bars are as quiet as my VFR and I can ride all day. I nearly cried when I had to pay for my Heli's but in the end they kept me on the bike and saved the day. Without them the bike probably would have gone on the block.

You could try the "cramp buster" that you stick onto the throttle. Cheap.

I just switched from stock bars to Tomaselli adjustable clip ons..about 3 in. back 2 in. up and way different angle..no more white sound asleep fingers.. it's pressure on nerves in your palms. I find there is more throb in the bike at 60 mph than say 70-80...I would agree with a carb sync as well..higher bars..different angle..made riding the bike on straight stuff and curves better than ever...:D (check out pics on the clip ons thread)

I had an op tonight to get some pictures of the bike. The cu is of the bar end/grip/Heli look. Tear down for CCT's was to be this week but I got lazy. She's so purty now I hate to take her all apart again! :cry:

alright yea, thanks fellas, i'm gonna have to go get me some bars, sounds like that does the trick, but yea i was told the steering damper would solve the vibration, but theres really not that much vib, they told me that at the honda shop, i think they just wanted some commission , thanks
