I have completed the Flo-commander and Dr. Honda's Velocity Stacks install.
it is a solid improvement! it has cleaned up the low end stumble and made it smoother overall. Note: Stock OEM Air Filter and 2" flow Ultra Baffelectomy

from all the information i can search up these modifications are not considered un-wize i am interested in some feed back.

i am waiting for a while to look at the plugs, i will install a A/F mixture logger before i state it is running at the best jet settings and i will see i if i can get some more consistency out of this combination.

adjusting the flow commander takes a few seconds to get the screwdriver out and turn it a bit and GO! there is a definite effective change that will help dial in tighter, good for fine tuning tweeks, but, i still need more time with the Jets to be sure things are optimized

+1

What are you looking at for the A/F logger? I saw this on line - is this suitable or are there better/cheaper solutions?

skycam those secondary air filters (the little ones) are all chewed up, mine were partially missing and I found the missing bits inside my carburetors so you might want to clean them out. looks nice, though!

Yes you do need to replace them. That is where the carb gets clean air for the back side of the slide. If left out or damaged the carbs fill up with dirt and the slides and \or carb bodies can be damaged.

tell me more! please i cleaned the bits of degraded foam out of the area it was sticky and falling apart. what exactly does that foam filter do and why not just rely on the clean air of the main airbox area, i am confused.. sorry i thought it was a breather pipe or

Those small filters provide clean air to the slides in the carbs like Hawk8541 said... If you look at it there are a hole in the bottom of the airbox, and the top part of the little box separates them from the rest of the box... The reason is that they should have separate pressure to work...

innovative makes one of the best widebands on the market. i had one in my turbo car and i loved it. infact i wish i had never sold it as id be using it on the bike right now. the problem with a wideband airfuel system is the cost, youre looking at an easy 400 for a cheap but decent setup. personlly if i were to buy one id buy a handheld unit, itll data log, i believe its cheaper to go that route then with the guage system, and this way you can rent it out to people who are tuning and make a few bucks back :)

Exactly..... that is why the air filter has the 2 molded fitting on the bottom of it (or the rubber "blocks" like with a K&N filter). They plug into the part with the foam filter and make a separate chamber to supply clean air to the back sides of the slides.
