? about CBR1000RR Fork Swap rim fitment & other ?'s

I just purchased a set of 06' CBR1000RR USD Forks with calipers and m/c. I am planning on going to 6 spoke CBR rims and I already have the rear. My ? is now that I have the killer forks what 6 spoke rim will fit with this front end? I could have bought the 3 spoke rim but I want to match the 6 spoke I have already bought for the rear. I also could have bought the triple trees but from what I have read in the forum it looks like I need the 929/954 triple trees. I would appreciate it if someone would verify this and tell me what my options are. I also passed up the clip ons and front fender. I need to know if I did the right thing or do I need to go back and get some of these parts. Thanks, Brad.

The only way to get a six-spoke wheel on that fork is to take a RC-51/SP1 wheel and swap out the bearings and spacers on it for the CBR 1000RR equivalent parts...

The downside of that is that the SP1 wheels are heavy, infact that front wheel is roughly the same weight as the stock VTR wheel... The three-spoke CBR wheels are significantly lighter than stock, so you are sacrificing performance for looks... Also finding a SP1 wheel in good condition used today is like finding gold, and the cost is ranging form stupid to moronic...

For the rest, look in the link 8541Hawk provided, all the info is there...

I would go back and get that front fender. I used a 954 fender with my 1000rr forks and it doesnt look as good as the 1000rr fender. Forget about those clip-on's they won't work. You need riser clip-on's

Front Fender

Tweety, your bike has just about all the mods that I would like to do to my SH. I will be bothering you a bit here and there as I get to each mod that I can afford. I hope you dont mind. I am now thinking about going to the CBR1000RR 3 spoke wheels after reading what you said about the availability of the RC-51/SP1 front rim. Is it possible to use a rear wheel from a 1000RR with the stock VTR swingarm? Just one of many ?'s to come, Thanks, -B.

Nope, stock are 20mm axle, CBR's are 25mm... But they are both 3 spoke, so it doesn't look too bad... I had it that way for a good while before I got the swingarm swapped out...
