900RR Swingarm brace, but which brake line?
Planning on doing the brace mod this winter. I've already removed the brace and caliper bracket guide. I remember reading the stock hose will be too short but forget which hose fis. I would assume a 900RR hose, but assuming wastes money! Also I can still use my Hawk's caliper, just need to swap the braket right?

Just did this mod a couple of weeks ago. I just kept the stock line. Rotated the front banjo fitting back a little and it seeed fine. Although a longer line sure couldn't hurt anything.
Stock caliper will bolt right up to the 900 bracket. |
Yes you can still use the stock caliper on the 900rr bracket that you have to use. My stock brake line fit fine through my brace so I don't know who said that. Make sure you get the bracket guide in the right spot..

Thanks, man!

Yeah that was the plan, but I've been side tracked with other projects so the brace sits. Can you really feel the added stiffness, or is this really just for looks. I gotta check the clearance of it again cause it might not even fit with my Staintune high-mount slip ons. What kind of fender/hugger is that it looks BADAZZ!!

Yep. Mine ever so slightly rubs the left midpipe of my Jardine high mounts. She's all torn down for some head work right now but I'm pretty sure I'll be able get rid of the rubbing with some minor tweaking.

Well... You feel the abscence of the brace more than the addition... The rear end stops wandering about on it's own litte merry way...

Yes, do tell us where the rear hugger came from. I have searched, here and on the net and found nothing.
|
this hugger is for a 93-96 CBR900rr (obviously) that came from the Lockhart-Phillips cataloge from about 5yrs ago and now it is a discontinued part. I have thinking about getting in contact with a company that forms carbonfiber and see if the can mold and reproduce this hugger for our needs.

Another option
Here is one http://www.pa-motorcycles.co.uk/view...OBJ_ID=134638#. By my calculations it would be $174. delivered. For me that's a lot, but Wild Hair has them listed at $155. before shipping.
